Greetings from Ireland .... The sun shone today .... What a great place to live!
I'm new here and I'm relatively new to 'motorhoming'!
I had a Talbot Express AutoSleeper, which I loved, but the body died :(
I intend to look at a CVE Omnibus 1991, which has been converted. The top radiator hose is missing. Does anyone know what the internal diameter of said pipe is?
I live on the east coast and the camper is on the west coast and I have only seen photos on the bus. I'd like to be able to drive it properly, so I need to fit a hose.
Can anyone help, please.

Welcome from a fellow Irish person. I am sure that some one will be along with an answer to your query. Do you know what engine is in your conversion as that probably would be helpful too.

Hi Paul, no idea but if we keep bumping this thread to the top of the page, someone who can answer you're hose question will see it. :) Meanwhile, welcome to the fun (y)

Thank you for the welcome, Kath. I haven't the foggiest idea what engine is in the bus. Actually, I haven't seen the vehicle yet. Apparently, it's a CVE Omnibus 1991, which was converted. It has been lying up for a while ... don't know how long for and is very sad .... and that's just from the photos!! I'm hoping to see it on Saturday. Information on the CVE is very sparse! And from the information the engine seems to be similar to Johnny Cash's 'One piece at a time', as, so far, the engine seems to be made from Land Rover, Isuzu, Suzuki, Toyota and VW! .. hopefully, not all at the same time! .... I'm bringing and extremely good mechanic who specialises in bus engines with me, when I view .... should be interesting! I'll post any further information as I get it.
Regards
Paul

Welcome Paul from a fellow Irish member.
Hose shouldn't be a problem from any good auto supplier.
Meanwhile, consider chucking a tenner and becoming a full MH Fun member as you will become a "read only" member after 5 posts..... lots of info on here and I can vouch for its value.
Good luck with the new vehicle.

We are sailing to Dublin on Thursday and making our way to Kerry and Galway so if you see a MH with a funster smiley sticker on the windscreen be sure to wave!

Hi and Welcome to Fun.
You're very wise to take a mechanic with you. It can be too easy to get carried away by the excitement of a new vehicle.
Good luck with the viewing but remember there's always another for sale if this one isn't right.

Once again, a big thank you to all you welcoming peoples! Greatly appreciate your kindness.
Have a great trip, Kath. The weather here is gorgeous, but the forecast from this Thursday is not great :( Nevertheless you should have a ball. It's a great time to visit Kerry ... the 'damned' tourists haven't arrived .... Obviously, you are not a tourist! The Ring of Kerry should be very accessible at this time of year. Enjoy yourselves.

Yes the Ring of Kerry is calling and Waterville in particular. Will be parked up near my sister's place - the bottom photo will be our view over towards Ballinskelligs.

Thanks, again, for all the greetings. I'm going to 'visit' the Omni on Saturday. From the photos that I have seen it's in a very sad state, but I still love te look of it .... I hope that you all will keep your fingers crossed that my mechanic gives it the okay! If he does and if I can negotiate a good purchase price and the deal can be done I'll post photos of it in its present condition .... You will raise several eyebrows, I'm sure!
But with a lot of TLC, a power washer, a steam cleaner and a lot of elbow grease ...... and money, I'm confident that it can become a camper of beauty and character!!
