You are only allowed on one side of the river, the side near the town. The other side has no motorhome parking now.

I didn't think over the river was Gravelines? Op might be thinking about the service point next to the Police Station

Possibly. Thought OP was talking about the one the other side when saying which one. Completely forgot about the service point next to the Police Station.

I would definitely use this one. Just a short walk to the town centre

http://www.frenchaires.com/aire/gravelines/

There is meant to be another at N51.00130622, E2.10898876 which is:
Boulevard Carnot
59153 Grand-Fort-Philippe
France

I have never stayed here and cannot comment on it.

There's only one aire to stay on and near town by the boats, the one near the police station is only a service point.

The aire by the marina is the most well-known. Last time I looked you could also park overnight in the lay-by near the entrance to Camping de la Plage.

The map shown by @pjay above has that spot on it, and also shows the MH tolerant overnight car park near Camping Les Dunes, but having seen that I'd go for the marina every time.

If you're prepared to walk (or cycle) a bit from the marina aire along the east side of the canal to the seafront there's a wider choice of eateries than in the old town centre. We particularly liked Chez Delphine, and Le Palm Beach isn't bad either.

There is also a new aire beside the canal, on your right, as you drive into Gravelines.

The one by the marina, overlooking the boats, is our favourite though.

If full you can use the other one next to the leisure area, it's the last car park. You tend to be lonely there but as a plan B works ok.

There's no fear of it being full this time of year especially now they have doubled the size, and for a restaurant you won't beat "au cap compass " just the other side of the river, near Lidl.(y)

A little farther on there is free overnight parking in Bray Dunes. Loads of shops and restaurants in season and few minutes stroll to the beach
Also a 5€ service point at the nearby Carrefour
