I have the external power problem as well only lasts about five minutes on a full charge think the unit will be returned have tried puting in another location to destination doesn't seem to be a way of doing it thanks for the replies still trying.

Well i found out why my chinese sat nav kept flashing the mesage "External Power Source Disconnected" across the screen and eventually shutting down - I was not using the car charger that was supplied with the system, i have a few knocking around in a drawer an thought they were basically all the same:Blush::Blush: but all sorted now:thumb:
