First the goodnews after nearly a year
Mrs t and I got away in EOR the [STRIKE]swift[/STRIKE] slug
Went to canterberry kent Ccc site nice site nearly all hard standings
1 toilet block in use nice though
The other under reconstruction
individual showers with door
Toilets the same
But new to me individual wash basins with door :thumb:
Bus stop on doorstep of site walked into canterberry
Tuesday afternoon 25 mins ish
Afternoon in canterberry and walked back
Cooked our tea Lincolnshire sausages new spuds and peas
Weds first use of me new bus pass
Of course the child bride had to fiddle for quiet money and change
went to sandwich
she likes a shop
I like wandering round the backstreets
Looking and picturing how life was in days gone by
Lunch in a pub chicken n mushroom pie for Me
steak and kidley for mrs t
Ooohhh and a pint of tolly ale (£2.00 a pint)
Nice this not driving lark
Thing is weds is half day closing and the shop
We needed to go in was shut
Anyway back home on the bus
Thursday I fancied going to Deal
So on the bus
it was a bit of a misty day
Anyway as we traveled to deal the bus went through
Sandwich ( market day ) as mrs t had a return a big sigh
Look market day
Guess what you can't break a journey on a return ticket
Can with a bus pass guess who wasn't amused :thumb:
It's strange
I always imagined sandwich
to be the larger and better served shopping centre
but deal is the larger and better served
Hotel next to the pier was the lunch venture today
Lucky find open log fire whole restaurant to choose our table from
Strange how hard it is when you have so much choice
hand cooked fresh local cod in beer batter with a pea mash( purée)
And chips Sooner of had garden peas if I'm honest pint of Guinness
And a pint of spitfire ale
the Guinness was best I've had since Ireland
12 years back
Enjoyable walk round the town and along the pier
Two nice little towns still trying to work out where they hide their cars
You could nearly shake hands across the back streets from window to window
Full of ignored yellow lines
Nice mr whippy cone in the novelty shop by the pier
Back home on the bus good day all round
All in all quite a relaxing time back in harness Monday child minding
Two lively granddaughters 18 mnths and 30 mnths
Friday tipped down during the night going home day as well
Wasn't looking forward to it van was sluggish on the way down
Accelerated to forty as usual but sluggish over forty
Had to row the truck home 3/4/5 slightest up hill
then start downshifting
Anyway back home now and gonna find out why it's so sluggish
In the week
