Hi guys, looking for some advice / recommendations for 'straight dealers' within a couple of hours drive of East Riding / York.
Some friends have already been burned by a deal from a well known dealer on the A64 near York but are still v keen to buy a Motorhome - probably coachbuild, to cope with 2 adults / 2 kids / 2 dogs [symmetrical if nothing else :ROFLMAO:]
We've no up to date info on dealers - our van is 7 years old and still going strong :thumb:,
we do have good memories of Marquis and Robsons - but it was a long time ago, so, any of you got any recommendations ???

ta in advance for anything useful

Hi Top
Exp
0.4
SMC or 77 motor company ltd in Newark.
We just bought our Leika and the service we got was fabulous.
Their usual time from purchase to customer is 3 weeks, we needed ours in 3 days and they managed it to perfection.
Well recommended

Straight Dealers

Try Brian at South Yorkshire Motor homes [Dinnington]
Not the biggest company, but the guy is a "tryer"and will go out of his way to help.
I bought my first van from him,got a good deal, not needed to go back in nearly 2 years {no problems] and yet he still contacts me at the "shows"

Hi
hi
we bought a 2nd hand swift from marquis in preston and although handover went well the wife did feel a wee put out by the salesman (we paid cash)we traded in an old dorma mobile self build for a 2006 swift 590rs life style which by the way the wife loved ,but the salesman steve was non too helpfull in fact he was quite nonchelant !!! all that money in cash and he was "a snob" then we bought a "new van fro disover a nexxo t660" oh my god it was stunning when it finalyl arrived !!!!! the original delivery date was 15th may 09 we finally took delivery on the 31st of july 09 because the wife got in touch with germany (ANOTHER CASH SALE DIFFERAnCE) we then traded that in (no monies changed hands ) for a 2004 pilote 91 and itd brill it ahsa the fixed bed we need plus the double over bed we need for the weans also plenty of room for the dogs we have a gsd cross and a bullmastiff male so space is scarce but the pilot is all we need untill the wife sees a new van she wants !!!:cry::cry::cry::cry:

Deepcar motorhomes, on the north side of Sheffield have a good reputation for service . They specialize in Hymers, but do have other makes of motorhome for sale.
Their website is Deepcar Motorhomes International - Specialists in Hymer & Westfalia Motorhomes

Might be a little further than is ideal for you but I find Tyne Valley Motorhomes very very helpful and competitive. I changed to them when I had a very poor experience with Brownhills after buying from them a number of years ago.

Good point > The amount of dealers and salesmen that are out there selling Motorhomes , and really have got no experience of owning and maintaining one . :thumb:
