I have had to make the decision twice in my life. At the time it rips your heart out, but in time you come to realise it is the right and proper thing to do for a friend and you find solace in that.

We had to say goodbye to Jasper, our 14 year old Springer in November. It hit me harder than When my Dad died.
My thoughts are with you.

We too had to say goodbye to our little Susie less than a year ago.
Reading this has once again brought me to tears.
It's true I know it's very hard and I don't know how long we will grieve but it does get a little easier each day but it still hurts but she it's still in our hearts and in our memories, we talk about her nearly every day.
So sorry for your loss.
