Going to Lefkarda in Greece (1 Viewer)

We are planing a trip to Lefkarda sometime this year having just purchased a Bailey 625 any info/advice on the Route,Best time to travel would be greatly appreciated.

We went via Luxembourg, Austria, Montenegro, down to thessaloniki and hugged the coast all the way round the ploppyknees and came round to it in a clockwise direction..
BUT, with hindsight, we would drive down Italy's Adriatic coast to Ancona and get the Ferry across to Igoumanitsa in Greece (just below the border with Albania) Because THAT is the way we came home! ! !
It cost about €350 and took 24 hours, but you sleep IN your van on board WITH electric hook-up, and get a pass to open the door, so that you can access the bars and restaurants on the rest of the ship. ((which is a converted cruise ship, so NOT you average ferry ! ! ! ))

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. Best holiday we ever had, many years ago, a flotilla sailing holiday based in Nydri, Lefkarda. Keep us posted I wonder what it is like now, 20 odd years on.

We were there last April, May and june and it was chockablock with sailing boats for hire.. Hundreds of em ! !
But JUST as we left, the immigrant thing started, so we were lucky I think..
Lots of places inundated with thousands of immigrants and they have just had a LOT of snow, as has Sicily and Italy..

Travelled down though Albania last year to Lefkada (no immigrants). Nidri is still very nice as is Vassiliki. Easier route but not such fun is Ancona to Igounemitsa camping on board with full facilities ( that is with Anek or Superfast ferries or Minoan lines who instead of camping on board give you a cabin.
