I cover my M/Home during the winter but have to lay on power to keep batteries charged as my solar panel is covered. I am thinking of putting a clear perspex panel in the cover to expose the panel but will it work through perspex ?? Has anyone tried this ?

Yes it will work, no different to the smaller solar panels working through windscreens

UVB rays don't pass through glass, but UVA does. Don't know about Perspex though!
Most solar panels have some sort of protective film over the cells and they work fine.

I was offered the option of a clear window for solar when I ordered my made to measure cover

I think they use the same stuff as they use for awning Windows

Make sure the clear panel is well sealed to the cover fabric or you WILL get water under the cover, slowly cultivating mold and mildew on the roof.
