Thanks for all the photos Andy. We have happy memories of our trip south from the Dusseldorf show. Our first night was at Remagen, where the western support for the old bridge is now a museum.

As mentioned previously in the thread, many descriptions, such as this, are in English and German.

We tried to find space on the aire at Cochum, but it was full so moved on. We also followed the Mosel even into France for our journey home.

All in all, a nice relaxing ten days from Dusseldorf.

Is 24p a European record? Not bad for ESSO

It's adjacent the camp site but by road you come across it first and almost spitting distance from a supermarket
Can't recall if it was a Netto or a lidl/Aldi

EDIT it is Aldi

In summary this two weeks has been one of our best holidays to date. It didn't fly by like the second week often does and travelling hull/zeebrugge has been most relaxing and on balance value for money in time and fuel.
Looking forwards to doing it again asap
Scotland might be on the back burner again next year.
It's also noteworthy that given the location and price of that ESSO station it is well worth coming over running on vapours with both tanks

We did try the small parking at Klotten, but that was full too.

We will, like you, just have to return for a more extensive look around.

G&V fuel stations are often the cheapest in Flanders.
There are not always Esso ut they do have competative prices.

I didn't realise LPG had gone up:)(sorry couldn't help that)
There is a Total garage at the transport zone just as you leave Zeebrugge.
That is also competative normaly.

Thanks Andy, thoroughly enjoyed that, it is a must do for us now. Rather than take notes I will attempt it all fresh on my own but I will tackle you next time we meet for some "Must Visit" advice....Cheers......... Griff

When we went to the beer wall we noticed that besides the beer being very cold draught they also run ice cold water into an inverted glass before pulling your drink into it.
I just had to buy some Zot glasses as they seem to cool very quickly
I just stood mine in the freezer for 5 minutes before pourin a Warsteiner
