Many times I've said Bruges is an ace place coz it is, now I add Gent. Similar but bigger with some Serious churches.

Camping Blaarmeersen is the place to stay. Showers to die for.

    Gent in Dutch and German.

    Gand in French

    Gante in Austrian and Spanish

    Ghent in English

therefore, as this is a UK web forum for mainly UK residents it should be Ghent.

From Gent to Schweich on the Mosel. Campsite on river. Good position but only B list. Good shopping nearby. Got sunburned, just.

Much much better site 3k towards Koblenz, views to die for. As expected excellent cycle paths.

Weather below spec on Mosel so legged it to Fussen. Rain non stop alll the way.

Fussen in the sun, a dream stop. The town is a delight. Wonderful cycling. And of course the number 1 castle in Europe which was heaving with folk paying 22E a head to get in.

Still snow on the mountains this far south.

From Fussen the magnetism of Italy grabbed hold, so now in Camping Cappuccino on Garda. Nicely improved with new bar/reception since our last visit. We'll enjoy this old friend for a few days. It's like coming home.

    Then..........

    Hi Brian

We are due over there next month and tried to book three nights on ACSI site only to be told we can only book for a week. Have you had any similar experiences around Garda?

That's good value for such a location.

The place is Heaving, saw vans turned away from Butterfly this am.
