since 2007, 25 years tuggin before that.
Yes, drain it & refill it with the correct amount.
That's it as there is No level plug.

Set some of the old oil aside in a jar to check for seperation. Common fault on your age is water ingress caused by the scuttle drain emptying on the gearbox mount.

It should be filled through the reversing light switch. There is what apears to be a drain and a level plug on the side of the gearbox. In fact there are 2 levels which must be filled ie 2 chambers. First drain the box and then refill with semi synthetic oil by taking out the reversing light switch. If you fully drain it will take 2 litres.
If you don't do it this way,it wont be long before you start to have 5th gear problems as the 5th gear sits higher in the box.
After filling there is a dipstick on top of the box.
