gear box selector problem (1 Viewer)

I have a 1992 fiat ducato 1.9td compass calypso.I needed a new clutch so purchased one and got a local garage to fit it . I also got a second hand gear linkage to fit. Guess what, they cant get all the gears. With adjustment sometimes 1st ,2nd ,3rd and4th but no 5th and reverse and sometimes no 1st and 2nd but all the others. They even tried moving the engine mounts but still not right. Anyone with an idea would be most appreciated. Thanks mike:shout:
