Been reading the gas low thread but has anyone any experience of these http://safefill.co.uk , only up the road and seem to be half the price albeit not fixed but refillable , no need to get them out according to the site.
Sorry to start a new thread but thought it deserved its own:thumb:

We looked at Safefill bottles when we had our Autoquest but found that the larger bottle size meant it would only be possible to fit a single cylinder in the locker, meaning we would not be able to carry sufficient gas.

BINGO.... ,

Here is your first problem.. Straight from their own website..

"LPG is now available on many petrol station forecourts however as the industry has had concerns about people illegally filling rented cylinders, you may be refused in many of these until the Safefill message has been completely understood."

They will sell you a cylinder BUT many garages wont let you fill it.. Even less chance overseas, there have been several forum threads on this subject...

We were stopped from filling in France when they saw us opening the gas locker .Since fitting the external filler we have had no objections in France or Spain.
Be aware ,not many places to re fill in Spain.

Two issues with Safefill from my perspective are:
1, you have to disconnect your takeoff connection (pigtail or bottle mount reg) to refill.
2, you have to open the takeoff valve to fill and remember to close it again fully before disconnecting the fill gun.

The potential for gas leakage when filling the "safefill" bottles makes one wonder where they got the name.
