Gas bottle exchange (1 Viewer)

We've got two alugas lightweight bottles . Can I exchange them when empty in France for another alugas bottle or can I just get them refilled? Do I need a special connection and more to the point is it allowed? Using aires for a month so am worried about running out of gas (Got two 11kg bottles ) with no electric hook ups for fridge . Any advice welcome thanks.

if you have a gaslow or similar fitted, you can refill otherwise you will need space for a French bottle plus suitable regulator/pigtail. they will NOT exchange your alugas bottles.

Two 11s should last a month unless you use a lot of gas

Alugas are user refillable cylinders, you will need an adapter to fill in France but these are readily available.

Went to France for a week , last week with a 6kg gasit bottle used it for fridge ,cooking ,water heating,no hookup and the gauge still says full

I carry 2 6kg bottle's both new when left 11 days ago ...had fridge every night for around 15 hours plus cooking , oven etc still on first bottle at the minute so i reckon 2 11kg should do you a month no probs

With 2 x 11kg bottles, assuming you fill them when you first arrive in France (easy peasy) they should be more than sufficient for the length of time you're going unless you have the heating on for hours at a time and use the boiler a lot. France has a lot of fuel stations with LPG so topping up (assuming you have the necessary fittings which I'm sure you will have) won't be an issue.
