Hi, has anyone any recomendations or experience of Gap Insurance ?

This should cover you for the gap in the price that an insurance company gives you for a total loss and what it would cost to buy another (I think?)

My son's car was parked up in a deadend road on a housing estate when it was hit by a lady driver the insurance co wrote the car off due to cost of repair the settlement figure was £1000 less than what he owed the finance co, He had taken out Gap insurance and the excess was paid by them .

The lady driver did not even inform her insurance co and ended up being taken to court by my sons insurance co.

He was pi**ed off as he had a car one moment and lost it through no fault of his own without Gap insurance he would have had to fork out £1000:Angry:
