I bought a cheapo FTA box from Aldi for my last MH & simply removed the IR receiver, extended its wires, & fitted it where I need it. Only two wires involved & best extended with screened cable (reversing camera cable ideal because it's thin & unobtrusive). Current MH awaiting time to install FTA receiver.

What type of FTA box do people have? My understanding they do not all have the capability of the magic eye.

Happy with how to set up. Need recommendation for good receiver.

Thanks to all.

I use a Zehnder FTA 12v/230v sat receiver which has a remote magic eye as standard.

Zehnder is a well known and respected brand of German origin.

My limited experience of Free to Air units was that the EPG (program guide) is very disappointing at best. This is why I chose a HD Freesat unit the EPG is extensive and fast. I believe you can do a full tune to all FTA channels too

agreed.....EPG is to say the least...abysmal.

Very little info included, are generally very slow and some require more than a single button press to reveal hidden info (such as it is)

As others bought one of these absolutely brilliant

My installation photos follow, I did not use the supplied double sided sticky pad for the emitter instead made up pads from sticky backed velcro which allows me to switch between Freesat and Freeview receivers. As others have said its a superb piece of kit.
