The screen has frozen on my satnav. No response to tapping icons. Tried turning off & on, but no difference. Has this happened to anyone else?

Press the reset button. It's happened to loads of folk.
If that's your only fault your getting away light compared to others.

Mine works great apart from the odd reset. Just stick a pin in the reset hole on back.

Thank you. I thought there should be a reset hole, but could only see the one by the USB socket ... which turns out to an LED. Unfortunately, pressing the reset button on the back has not helped. I think it's a bin job!

11yrs, but many years a tugger.
Leave it till it's battery goes completely flat, that will reset it, then recharge and away you go, I hope. :)

Make sure you hold the reset button in for at least 10 secs. It should work.

No joy I'm afraid. Reset it a few times (20secs), but still the same.

Try what supermike suggested then and let battery run out or plug into laptop and see what happens. I wouldn't give up on it just yet.

There is a dedicated forum on FB for these so maybe worth an ask there.

Yes thanks, I will try that. However after sitting in a drawer for months, the battery was flat when I took it out yesterday, and put it on charge. I will let it go flat again, and also try it connected to my PC. Will also try FB.
Thanks for your advice!

They never do because a monitoring circuit on the battery stops it killing itself. If you can remove the battery for a while that would be kinder to the system.

Actually, I'm not that desperate to get it to work!!!
I have a good Garmin one that works fine - also with free map updates. I just liked having the ability to input vehicle dimensions. I have time on my hands, and have always liked the challenge of restoring a piece of kit that has failed.☺

I have had one some for over 5 years with no problems other than not being able to update the maps. My TomTom bricked itself in less time[/QUOTE]
