Hi to all. Just bought first motor home with a view to long trips in warmer climes. Was due to retire in February but couldn't bring myself to do it but firm have very kindly said I could take 6 months off at a time if I wanted to so taken the plunge and bought a bessacar E425.
Had 3 nights in Derbyshire on very cold weekend, van behaved really well but for a frozen pipe ( only about 2" of pipe not insulated. Hair drier and pair of socks wrapped around it soon had it sorted. )
One more trip to the Cotswolds to get used to it then into Calais with no plan other than to eventually meet up with family in Spain at some point.
Happy days

Welcome to Fun. I love the idea of taking 6 months off work at a time. Wonder if my boss would agree to it? (actually, he may well, as he told me on Saturday that he's retiring in a few weeks time )

Enjoy the trips, wherever you end up going.

What a great way to see whether you are ready or not. We went a similar rout as you. Small tent ( 1 weekend!) , large tent (3 years), foldering camper (2 years), small tent (1 summer), caravan (4 years), small motor home (2 years), bigger motorhome(now) :)
