Hi

We use a fridge on gas a lot but noticed the last few times that when the wind is blowing really strong onto the side of the van there is a gassy flue type smell which seems to be coming out next to the fridge above the smev oven which has an open ish metal vent above it. The smell does ago away when the wind dies down or fridge is turned off.

Not sure if servicing will help in anyway? is this common

We are in the North East can you recommend a good reasonably priced service person.

Thanks

There is a slightly gassy smell to the flue exhaust as you are burning gas, the fridge should be completely sealed so that nothing can blow into the van from outside (not many are) if the flue is also a bit sooty it certainly sounds like it needs the burner servicing/cleaning and the flue cleaning.

I do my own so sorry cant recommend, but possibly Caterick Caravans, Kimberley Caravans at Darlington or Leisuretech North East at Stockton or mobile.

Below is a recommendation from a funster @GJH

It can get gunged up with rust particles dropping onto the burner jet. LPG is corrosive.
Its quite easy to clean the burner, just don't poke the jet - they are about £15. Complete rip off - a 8 mm diameter piece of aluminium with a hole in it!
