Hi
I thought the bulb had gone in the dometic fridge but the bulb was ok- I assumed the switch was on a spring and that it was stuck closed but the instructions indicate it is operated on a magnetic relay principle.
When I placed a small magnet near to the switch the light comes on -remove the magnet and it goes out -I therefore assume that the fridge light is on when the door is shut

any advice as to why this will occur and how I can fix it such that the light comes on when the door opens?
thanks
jim

Getting there!
Is the switch on the hinge side? Operator magnet could be on the hinge or a mechanism that engages when door is opened?

Sounds to me as if the magnetic reed switch is faulty. No idea how you can get at it though.

Plenty of reed switches on ebay, price from as little as a £ for 10, though no doubt Dometic will sell you one for £20 ::bigsmile:
