Hi all.
When we are putting our fridge on gas.we turn the gas button and press it in.then we flick the orange igniter switch which flashes 3 or four times and then stops.we switch OFF the igniter switch and we let the gas button go and the fridge works away merrily on gas.
But a few times I have noticed that sometimes the orange igniter button is in the on position afterwards.
I am guessing that when we are using the hob that we are hitting the switch by accident..
It is not flashing as the fridge is on gas already.
One time the gas cylinder ran out and it started flasing.it could have been switched on for days.
Am I doing damage is my long-winded question

When you turn off the fridge, turn off the ignitor....although I would expect it to turn itself off when the fridge is turned off or switched to mains.

As you found with the empty gas bottle, It only sparks when it detects the flame has gone out.
