anybody help with this one. I've just got a couple of 120mm punter fans to assist my fridge in warmer climes. they have small thermostat on a wire so that you can place the said stat, as close to the heat source as you like. there are three wires attached to fan, black, red, and yellow. I've had the fan running in position using red and black wires, but what is the yellow one for.
the fan doesn't seem to want to turn off when i cool the thermostat in water. what have i done wrong
thanks alan

Hello,
If your fans are the same as mine, the thermistor controls the speed dependent on temperature .
The fan will run at say 800 rpm & as the temp increases will speed up to say 1300 rpm.
They do not switch on by the thermistor. When you put power to them they will run at slow speed.
You need another thermo switch to turn them on & off. Yellow wire not needed.
Barrie.
