I have a freesat "Humax" box rigged up to a spare large-ish dish perched on the lawn in the back garden..

I enjoy watching True Movies 1 & 2,, (sad I know)

Question if I take the box abroad will it work from a 68cm portable dish?

Thanks.

anywhere i europe you should get the Sky footprint further past France you may need a bigger dish, MH in CY you will need a 2.2 meter one to get Sky:ROFLMAO: but you should be able to hook on to Hotbird and a few others easily enough

yes, it will , we used a free sat box and 65cm dish in Southern Spain, you will pick up the Astra 2 south beam with it no problem.

Also used it in Morocco and picked up Nile Sat .. lots of english channels

a 65cm dish will be able to pick up some but not all channels around europe.
the further south you go the bigger the dish you will require, especially for the Astra 2D satellite that carries the free to air BBC ITV C4 and Five, and the Astra 2a and 2b north beams

A 65cm dish for True Movies in Spain or south europe may be an issue, the signal from the satellite may not be strong enough for reception on a dish that size...some aresa of Spain struggle with an 80cm dish for that particular channel.

Truly amazing, that's outside the 2D footprint .. .. but like I always say, an ounce of practical is worth a ton of theory!

I've had it as far south as Northern Spain with the 65 cm crank up , right on the edge of the print.

I like to watch 'true movies ' as well, (so you're not alone ::bigsmile:) I am certain there's a fair amount of 'artistic licence' used and a few are rubbish, but even if only part of the story line is true it still demonstrates that humans are not nice creatures (Most of them anyway:Smile:)

I can't help with thetechie thing 'cos I'm currently on Sky (Not for too much longer 'tho)
