I expect others will already have found it, but we spent a glorious evening and peaceful overnight at the free aire at Gortnor Abbey Pier on Lough Conn. N54.0936 degrees, N009.2994 degrees.

Toilets and water... all FREE!

We were on our own and awoke to this sunrise over the lake.

Hi Jim.

Yes.... and no! (There's a bit of Irish for you)

The aire is a new layby above the carpark, marked 'Campers' right next to the new toilet block and the tap.
Its whats shown as the rough bit of lind on the right of this. Really nicely done?

Another possibility for Funsters. We went to the Cliffs of Moher late in the day, and wanted to stop for the sunset so I cheekily asked if we could overnight in the car park. Answer was a yes provide we made "no fuss" and accepted that there were no facilities. It was quite safe as the car park barriers would let us out, but no-one else in.

A lovely quiet night.

Sunset over Galway Bay.
