I have just returned from the official opening of a new aire de service in the very small town (well, village really) of Montils in the Département de Charente Maritime (17). The village is west of Cognac and north(ish) of Pons. All facilities free (no electricity).

The borne is situated behind the Salle des Fêtes, don't try to approach it from the road in front of the Salle as there is a height barrier in the way.
It is such a small place that there is one bar / restaurant (they did us proud on Sunday
:thumb: ) one boulangerie 
, one épicerie (general food shop) and a hair dresser, unisex, (French ladies like to have their hair done very regularly.
