Very modest toll prices. Ridiculous diesel prices.

They have Sostas though I've never seen one. But they are good with waste dumps, most mway service areas have them.

Cheap in July/Aug, now that is a tall order.

But do go - all the big names - Garda, Pisa, Florence, Rome, Sorrento all deliver big time.

That's an excellent route to follow. It will be HOT.

Never found an wire yet but do as the locals do and find the cheaper campsites, some are much cheaper than others and MH only sites are quite popular.

2wks ago in Venice and I though the tolls were quite expensive but that was in a hire car so not sure if a MH is much more as it is in France.

Plenty of the famous "Autogrill" stops on the Autostrada

Italian aires are called "sostas". Some are more expensive than campsites though - for example, Peschiera del Garda will cost about 15 euro..... you can get on a campsite for that!

Some sostas are free though but from our experience of trying, not many.

Italian tolls are cheaper on a mile per mile basis than France. Check the costs for your route here - www.autostrade.it

Fuel in Italy is expensive, so shop around and get it when you see it cheap. Note that most garages have two prices - one for attended service and one for putting it in yourself - the difference is a few cents per litre.

Here is a pic of the Peschiera Link Broken - why would you though? 15 euro, no hook up, next to a busy road. It is the same price all year, even when ACSI sites are 12, 14 and 16 euro! The sosta at Orvieto is 18 euro!

Our fourth glorious year!
To give you an idea on costs we paid 25 euro to travel from Genoa to Peschiera on Lake Garda.Probably slightly cheaper than France but as has been noted Diesel costs are amongst the highest in Europe so fill up first!:thumb:
