Hi we live in haute vienne (87) when the initial strikes took place about a month ago we had queues about 7-8 vehicles a time at the pumps but after the panic buying it all died off. The government has 3 months of reserves & its only one union that keeps going on strike, so even when a refinery is blockaded there are still workers producing fuel. Also the gendarmes have the authority to use the same force at the refinery blockades as they did on the football supporters last week....hence the blockades were removed pretty quick.
We travelled north on Wednesday to the tunnel no fuel shortages on route (that a 9 hour drive) so I reckon its all ok
Anywhere near Moussac Sur Vienne?

Just got back to Wales today. Had two weeks or so in France, down as far as Pau up through Saumer and the Loire and absolutely no problem with getting diesel or indeed any sign of any problems.

Jim, don't believe everything you read in the papers and just trust the 100% of people on this thread who if they had a problem said it was easily resolved.

We travelled to the UK with 2 vehicles last week and returned with one 4 days later. Two different routes and 1600 kms in France, no problems for us too. If you really really get stuck then there are enough funsters in France that will make sure you have enough fuel to get home on time, just relax and go and enjoy yourself. This is as good advice as you often give me.

Prices are dropping, sure sign that things are ok, just paid €1.09 near Bayeux.
I have learnt two new words in French....'fracture' which was posted all over closed fuel stations, which seem to convey no fuel due to industrial action and 'manifestations', no ghosts but we guessed meant people protesting (sign outside railway station to warn people going into Tours).

Hi,

Just to say we now live here permanently, an hour east of Bordeaux, & there have been no fuel or other problems throughout. Prices did go up but are now getting less tho' not yet back to the €1.05 per litre diesel that it was at our local SuperU.

As reported in the other fuel thread there does not seem to be any issue with the availability of fuel.

This 'issue' is in danger of becoming a 'can you you get vegetables/fuel/fresh meat in the Highlands of Scotland?' kind of issue!

Hi..we had a smashin time in normandy and I originally planned never to be less than half a tank away from Dieppe because of the "problem" ..but there was none! And so in a little place called st.pierre sur dives I decided to top up..I chose the first filling stn I could find ..it was a Total..and it was closed..fortunately though there was another(not Total) 200 yards down the road. How did i do that
