What new vans are for sale on Ford ? I am keen to find out about the auto option as I have been told it is very good ?
I know of the Benimar Tessoro range but payload is awfull.

Chausson - has very similar designs to Benimar but less fitted extras like oven, spare wheel etc so probably better payload. Ours is 750kg but not put it on a weighbridge yet. We are downsizing to a van conversion in the next year or two & it will have to be on a Maxi Chassis & uprated as payload is even more of an issue than on coachbuilts!
Don't know about the auto version on the Ford - the Fiat Comfortmatic is a bit like marmite so worth getting a test drive somewhere if you can.

Before you get to enamored by the thought of a Chausson maybe you had better peruse this http://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/weight.148610/.
And there are complaints on Benimar UK facebook about injector issues on the Euro 6 Transits with very low mileage.

Think any make & model of motorhome over 6m that claims a decent payload but still under 3500kg overall is probably not accurate! Our Chausson at 5.99m has 750kg payload so even if not that quite much in reality should still be plenty.

Im not so sure payload is “awful” TBH on aBenimar
On paper not great, but Benimar’s MIRO includes stuff that others do not
