I paid £417 which is well below the going rate but I did have a DOA unit. The seller sent me another with the OK from Thule :thumb: and are collecting the duff one today.

I ran a 3 metre 16 amp rated euro lead (ebay) across the garage roof and used two types of minitrunking to overcome the step in the centre roof panel. Finished with a twin socket attached with two giant velcro coins

The motorkit only needs 260 watts to drive it.

Straight forward wiring

Rapido has a satellite power supply in the wardrobe at the back so just pickup up the blue -ve and green +ve ignition signal(Rapido wiring). This will energise the relay coil and open circuit the supply to the motor.

Same as usual but the superhuman effort of winding in and out a 4.5 metre awning is dispensed with

Can you run it off an inverter if off EHU? or can you still wind it out manually if needed?

I looked at these thought about above and moved onto something else I didn't need either!!

Looks a great piece of kit

Mine is wired off the inverter as per the diagram above.
In the event of and electrical failure there is a hex key in the end cap that can be used to wind it back in.

So have you added this 'kit' to your original awning?

I presumed you had to buy a new awning

Are you at Chester? It will be good to see a real one not a salesman video!!

Don't you do any work? :winky:
Since being made redundant over three years ago I am self employed and fortunately for me I can pick and choose. This week I chose to have off and maybe next week too  I like doing my own stuff, call it a hobby :ROFLMAO:

At the moment I have a branch of WH smith in haslemere in pieces until the whole floor is dug up and replaced then I'll go put it all back together

Call me old school or old fashioned .. I'm of the KISS school..

For me it is just something else to go wrong.. as it will eventually .. usually it's sooner rather than later.. and when it's least convenient..

Cool ? .. yes.. but when it fails .. uncool .. :roflmto:

Keep the winding handle.. :winky:

btw .. Neat job :thumb:

It's sounds like you and I are similar beasts i.e. you could get someone else to do the work on your van but you enjoy doing it yourself. It's very rewarding.

While doing the awning electrics I decided to scrap this crappy piece of Rapido's work and replace with something more serviceable , it was trapping condensation too

I replaced the front blinds over a year ago. They used to be the horizontal type that pulled upwards from the dash and they were sh1t and the runners were knackered at the top. They went in the bin so I'm sorry I can't help.

The side window blinds are saleable tho but I imagine only any good to those who have the fan type aready that may be damaged and need a replacement.

On site now at Hebden Bridge CC on its first day of the new season, I was first to arrive just after 11 a.m. and the site is almost full
Finished off the job by fitting the steel reinforcements inside the awning arms (20 mins)
Decided to hang the remote in the doorway as it's dead space anyway.
This is not the usual remote supplied but it came with the replacement unit and I decided to keep it as it runs on 2 AAA batteries whilst the normal one required 2 coin batteries
