Study the rear of other autotrails that have racks fitted.

Phil's galleries and advice gave me the confidence to ignore rapidos fixing points to enable my bike rack to go central ( not afforded by Rapido )

I emailed Autotrail with model and year of mine as I wished to fit some steps. I asked if they had a plan/diagram which indicated where the interior timber frame / reinforcing was located in the rear panel. Autotrail replied with an attached diagram that showed where this reinforcing was located, with measurements from side walls and roof to centers.
If I can put my hands on the email I will add it to the post as an example. Mine was for an Apache 634 but not sure if each model differs.
Regards, Lance.::bigsmile:

Hi,
Managed to find the email, I'll try to attach the diagram on here...
I've had to attach a photo but when opened you can see all measurement and print.:thumb:

It would help if we had the model number of the autotrail ! If the vans a late one with the spare wheel on the back there is a specific rack for it

Fiamma Carry Bike Auto-Trail

if you want advice and a rack just give Ian or Glenn a call. 01-580-881288

"I'm a newbie"
why not fit the one that just simply goes on the towbolt and quite easily supports two cycles with no damage to your autotrail :)

When I had the Bolero, I emailed Swift, they sent me a schematic drawing via email which clearly showed the bike rack support areas within the structure of the rear panel.....One thing to consider if you choose another place on the rear panel to fix the rack to and it break's ...away from the panel and somehow cause's injury:cry::cry: your insurance company will do their upmost not to pay out:roflmto:
