I am sat here right on the sea thinking I could try a spot of fishing when I come back next year.

Any ideas on rigs, bait, lures etc that I should be using?

Really - off the beach?

Yes mate...

I lived there twice for years and got a license...

If I remember rightly I bought it from the Ayuntamenta.. Local Council... or it may have been from the police..

I`ll see if I can find it... and get back to you.. :thumb:

spain and portugal you need a licence even for the sea . both have police continualy driving the coast and do catch loads . all fishing equipment is confiscated and a fine took on the spot or arrest if you cant and are not local.

Mo, it must be a nightmare enforcing it!!

What about boat fishing?

France?

Not sure on the boat fishing Dave... depends if it is commercial or for pleasure..

And if you are asking about France.......... sorry no idea...

As for the policing,,,,,, there are dedicated bailiffs for want of a better word...

But also the Guardia Civil/Police Local and the National Police have every right (If they have nothing better to do..)... to ask to see your permit/license...

Unless you like sardines, nothing worth catching in the Med.

6yrs ish!
When were in the canaries for the winter, I am always beach fishing, as in Spain you need a licence, 14euros for 3yrs. Some countries may differ. But worth checking. If caught it could be 5000euro fine. :thumb::thumb::thumb:
