First Year Motorhomer (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone my name is Rick (Richard on a Sunday), Mary and I have just completed our first Year with Homer, he has been a bit of a pain at times and cost a fortune, but, must admit overall the experience has been good. We traveled to the Vendee in France in April, loved it even though we had to have a new Turbo fitted. Through the summer we have traveled a lot usually for one or two nights, we did stop for fifteen days in Warwickshire in August on the Old Leamingtonians campsite. Then in September we traveled to Devon, we cheated and stayed for a week in the Park Hotel, Barnstable, having the convenience of Homer on the journey was nice, he did cost us a few bob for a new Camshaft sensor, unfortunately the garage in Devon didn't fit it correctly and cost five visits to garages and lots of money for the problem to be found and to be put right. For the coming Year we have only one trip booked so far, we have booked a Haven site in Norfolk during May for 7 days cost £70 so thought we would give it a try. Hope to make at least one trip to France and we are off again off to Leamington in August and Devon in September. I am looking forward to joining in on the forum and hope to share a few beers or something stronger when I meet some of you.

Sounds like you have gone in at the deeper end too.

We have had quite a few good holidays and even a very nice house in Spain.

But, like so many, we love the freedom and adventures of motorhome travel.

Great name, obvious but I don't recall it before. Ours is Harvey coz when we got it I thought I was an RV.

Better luck this year. Don't get fixated on France, the Moselle and Rhein are stunning and just as close.
