- enjoyed the freedom over the last couple of years but still Wish we could have got away more often
Hi All,
Finally the time arrived last Tuesday to collect our Swift Sundance 590 RL and we loaded it up ready to depart on Friday for the weekend and a trip to the New Forest about 2 1/2 hr drive.
Sadly Mrs Jane developed a cold on Thursday morning closely followed by me in the Afternoon, but having looked forward to our first trip for so long we decided we would still rather get away than sit at home.
First Motorhome we saw in the opposite direction gave us a cheery wave which lifted our spirits as we quickly waved back before they passed.
We had a great time and met more friendly motorhomers one of which kindly lent us a hozelock screw on connector so we could fill up with water (unfortunately missing from the starter kit the dealer gave to us FOC as a tempter after we had already decided to go ahead. hee hee)
We also braved it and left our pitch on the second day for a trip to the coast. Had a great time paddling along the edge of the sea and introducing our dog to splashing in the sea (wimped out, we had our wellies on) and then enjoyed some hot soup whilst watching the sea view from inside our lounge.
Having wanted a Transit chassis, super impressed with Fiat Ducato Multi jet, only disappointment was the Truma Ultrastore running on hook up which as Mrs Jane stepped in the shower had cooled to about 38 degrees before bothering to warm up again. With an ambient temp of about 7 degrees the cold water was freezing and what she had to use to rinse off her shampoo (very unhappy bunny.)
Planning our next trip. We have a Christening to attend this weekend so will have to wait until next weekend.
Might have to swop Truma Ultrastore for Malaga 5e (had one in our horsebox) never let us down and did not need rinse on rinse off technique (13.5 litre tank.)
Otherwise perfect, WE ARE HOOKED
Hope to get to a rally one weekend and our sticker has arrived and is firmly fixed to windscreen.
