First campervan holiday (1 Viewer)

Just back from two weeks in the outer Hebrides. Went Oban to Barra, four nights on Barra and on to Uist, again four nights on Uist. Ferry from Uist to Harris and a couple of nights on Harris, finishing up in Arisaig via Skye. Me the missus and our west highland terrier ( RHU ) Brilliant time, weather not bad but midges were. Campsites first class. Looking forward to our next experience.

We did them in June but wild camped all the way. Found some great spots as well. Such stunning scenery.

Love Scotland but I'm afraid those pesky midges mean we don't go between May and August incl.

Jealous, we were there in June and can't go back soon enough. Midges weren't a problem then, we live on the west coast and there has been a lack of them this year.

We did a similar route, but the other way round, starting off from Skye, then travelling south through the islands. Then Barra back to Oban. We wild camped, and yes there are some lovely spots.

Glad you enjoyed your trip, shame about the midges though. We were lucky on that score.
