We got our Britstops (UK version of France Passion) guide a couple of months ago and have just stayed overnight in a pub car park at Woodley, Reading.
Readers who have joined Britstops will find stop B102 in the list of new overnight stops recently emailed out, its not in the 2013 book.
We parked up then went into the bar to introduce ourselves. Very warm welcome from landlady Rita. We chatted for a while about the doubtless benefits of the Britstops scheme - we get somewhere safe to park up overnight, they can make an extra few quid for zero outlay so everyones happy.
Lovely local pub actually, in a residential area and with a friendly atmostphere. As most of the regulars walk here the large car park is mostly unused, giving plenty of room for motorhome parking.
Very good value pub too, we were joined by family for lunch, four of us had a drink and a main course for about £35.
Attractive garden, play area, free wifi and water and a large and pretty lake with a (wheelchair friendly) path round it seconds away.
We have chatted to quite a few motorhomers lately who have never heard of Britstops, its certainly worth joining. http://www.britstops.com/
