Finding Pedro's ! (1 Viewer)

Spent more than 2 hours today trying to find Pedro's from the co-ordinates on his website,one sat nav sent us into a quarry and the other into a locked car park.I know where it is on google maps but just couldn't get there,back at Gale again.

it sounds to me like you are using the wrong setting for your co ordinates, there are three different types make sure your satnav is set the same as you are trying to put in.

Check that you are entering the coordinates in the right format eg
Degrees, minutes, seconds
Degrees, decimal minutes
Decimal degrees
I don't know what format Pedros website has the coordinates but you need to make sure your SatNav is set up to enter the coordinates in the same format.

It is at the junction between the A2 and the A22. These motorways should be on the map.

But my usual trick is to confuse E and W coordinates so I find it always pays to view the location on the GPS map before entering it as the destination - this has prevented me going off in completely the wrong direction more than once.

He has the 3 types and both sat nav's accept them all,will go out on the bike tomorrow and try and find his place.

Try these 37.156426, -8.209384 exactly how it Is laid out including the - instead of the w sign on the second part of the coordinates' have just put them into google maps and they come up exactly where Pedro's is ok. good luck Regards Garry Flatpackchicken

If you can see it on Google Earth-then put cursor on entrance and read co-ords at bottom right of screen.

Hmmm
The only other thing I can think of is getting the East/West thing mixed up.
I've done it myself a few times in Morocco and wondered why the coords would put me in the Atlantic Ocean!
Sometimes a site shows for example -2degrees which on my satnav I have to remember to enter as West 2 degrees.
Or maybe the coords on Pedros site are wrong?

It is at the Junction of the A22 & A2 but if you are on the MW you cannot get to it.
Directions: Start on the 125 at the Albufeira junction go North not S into Albufeira. Go past straight on at Roundabout & then carry on until you see one of their crossings that have lights that will change if you go too fast. After that the road goes down hill round a bend then there is a sign pointing right to Centieira, turn right here and follow this narrow road under the MW then watch out for the gate with MH Freinds on in about a Km.
His co-Ordinates are correct 37.156730, -8.20955 decimal Lat. & Long.

Would be really easy if he had a sign on the EN395 where to go as having looked at google maps I passed the junction twice.

Think you need a new sat nav. We used his coordinates and our sat nav (Sygic on Android phone) took us straight there with no problems. But if you get lost just phone him and he will come out, find you and then lead you to his place.

Thanks but I have spent enough on sat navs,most times they do get you there but they are not all perfect,one of mine is Sygic on a Camos the other is Pioneer Truck/Camper.

i tried to find him yesterday he states he is 2km from padgme i was there and decided to use the campercontact (i dont have me sat nav left it in benidorm grrr)that told me i was 2.5km from pedros but then took me 11km onto the bloody motorway which then said your destination is on the right i couldnt have got there in a hummer let alone me mh lol now at lagos on the aire will try again in couple of days

Try contacting him at his website. Think he is open all year, but quieter in the summer.

GPS N37 05'33.55" W8 18'41.76" After the 37 and the 8 on the coordinates there is a decrees 0 but I don't know how to do it on my ipad

Hi I'm currently at the acsi site in careers, heading into Portugal tomorrow. How is Manta Rota ? Is Pedros really closed ? I intended stopping there

Hi Gary, Manta Rota is very nice and lovely and quite at night, plenty of room so vans not on top of each other, we have been here 2 nights and may stay another as Pedro's is closed then head down to parque da gale

Cheers I'll be crossing the border into Portugal today so will give this a try. I'm heading all up the coast at a leisurely pace and back home in 3 weeks. If you see a rollerteam with silver tape on the back bumper ( little misshap on way down ) say hi .
