Just about to do this for the first time, anything to watch out for ? or is it straightforward?

I find it best to remove and replace the filter first while there is no oil in your catch container. Then move to the drain plug.
It's best not to dump your oil before you successfully get the filter off. I know its only small on the 2.3 compared to a 3 litre but they can be VERY tight.

it took me a while to locate the correct oil and it was expensive and if i remember it needed quite a lot
ah........ but cheap compared to the fiat main dealer cost
