Hi all
Having a few problems with my auto-trail Cheyenne, its a 2007 fiat ducato, been getting engine management Light coming on, So took it to my local garage and they put it on the machine which reads the problems, but not so good at mechanics so any help or advise would be appreciated .
first error was PO683 which read preheating control unit.
second error was PO402 which read EGR valve,
third error was PO 638 which read throttle control valve.
Can anyone tell me if it would be best to replace all these items on the van, or best to replace one by one to see if it clears the faults,
any help would be really appreciated .
Regards George

Forget the error codes for a minute
What was the actual problem you had ?
We had similar type codes and it turn out thermostat sender unit wire had broke telling the 'Brain'the engine was still cold when temp was up
Edit problem is there are plenty of plug in technical twerps but fewer and fewer mechanics

Thanks for your reply. problem is when I start the engine it wont rev up just runs at idle, but if i turn the engine of the back on it runs as normal. so basically have to turn the ignition on and of a few times before firing it up ?

George, if all three of those sensors are gone you would proly be doing about 6 mpg, and VERY slowly !!!
Get them to clear the faults and what ever comes up FIRST after they are cleared you fix..
But also make sure the earth point that the ECU feeds from is ok !

I once helped out a friend who had the EGR error on a VW Polo, they are fairly simple to remove and clean, the whole job takes about 2 hours. A bit cheaper than replacing.
