Hi has anyone any experience regarding chip tuning a Fiat 2.8jtd 146ps 2004 engine in a Hymer A class motorhome , are they beneficial to fuel saving? in other words do they work .
Also I am looking for a tow bar for this Hymer B564 Alko chassis 2004 look forward to hearing anyones comments

Hi there, I personally would go for "chipping" or better still a tuning box as they certainly do give more power and better economy if driven carefully.
I found that the difference meant much less gear changes on hills,
from personal experience I found that the tuning box better as you could set it to your own preference, also it can be sold on after you have finished with the van, and no risk of fiat ducking out of responsibilities due to "chipping" just remove the box before servicing! it is easy to unplug.
hope this helps.:thumb: fixitjohn.

3 glorious years, previous 18 a Tugger!
Had my Pug 2.8 done at Birmingham show last year and "WOW" is all i can say if you dont need to change you save the gas, running round corners and roundabouts in 4th is also a boon.
No more shunting down on long hills.
Best mod i have had done yet.
Take Care

...Chipping

We'll join the " IT DOES WORK " gang....on our 2.4 [56] Ford Diesel Turbo.

Up from 125 to circa 160..apparently. Did it on a laptop directly linked to a chap in Germany !?!

Helps with towing the YARIS - BUT not seen much improvement in MPG:Sad:

Otherwise ...most pleased with power now available....though rarely used.
