I met your German soul mate here. He spent half an hour trying to get all his tent pegs out yesterday :ROFLMAO:
Guy opposite has just been out to check his 25 minute job is safe as it's now pishin doon while mine is already stowed away :cool::LOL:

Techno I think it's a great idea, the Mrs has ordered the brackets of eBay so that we can do the same as you. Really noticed the benefits when neighbours van had awning out like this at Kaysersberg this summer.

My van came with them on, I've used them occasionally with no problem. I prefer to put the legs ts on the ground if I can. My van is quite tall at 3.2m, so with the brackets as low as possible on the side of the van the legs are still at a reasonable angle even if the awning is fully wound out.

I very rarely put the legs on the floor, I put them in the wall brackets and then I can wind the awning in and out at will (depending on wind rain etc) without messing about with pegs in the ground, that said I very rarely wind the awning right out preferring to use it to keep the rain off the door and sun off the side of the van depending what we are having at the time.
