The end caps on our Fiamma F45i were looking a bit scruffy so today I decided to try and clean them up. Wound out the awning and removed them and initially tried just washing them with soap and water - no better!
Tried an abrasive acrylic cleaner which didn't do much better.
Tried (on a small area) a metal pan scourer and soap. This worked but left deep scratches.
Got a razor blade(stanley type) and gently scraped the surface at right angles, whilst firmly supporting the underside. This removed the grunge but could not be done overzealously as it removes a lot of material. Got the worst off with this method and then used a fine grade wet & dry paper with fairy liquid. This removed most of the scratches left by the blade and produced a relatively smooth, albeit matt, surface.
Looks much better now but would like a silk finish rather than matt. Anyone any ideas?
