As from 5pm today those of us parked up at Ferry Meadows CC site in Peterborough are officially on Flood Alert for the next 50 hours. If we get a knock on the door from one of the wardens day or night it's go, go, go! :driving2::driving2::driving2:

Hope you don't have any problems, Maz. Looking at the TV reports, the Tewkesbury site is probably closed and I should think York is on alert as well.

Actually it's all rather exciting - I have this vision of a convoy of motorhomes racing away just ahead of a relentless torrent of water.

When all the caravanners make a quick exit, collect their aquarolls, tie them around your van to form a raft, and then 'hey presto!', you'll have an amphibious motorhome!

Keeping my fingers crossed that you don't get a wake up call and if you do they do it in plenty of time for you to get away......

Thanks to everyone for wishing me well.

Apparently we're to leave the site in an orderly procession - hope someone remembers to lock the exit barrier in the raised position ............

Ferry Meadows is actually Nene Park - 2 bloody big lakes and near the River Nene. Paddy's Field at Home Farm is just up the road over the A1 on the left should you need to move - 07803 143553.

Well, last night passed without incident but apparently water levels are due to peak at 5pm today so we will see what happens then ...........

    Update:

Made it past today's 5pm watery peak without any great excitement but according to the Environment Agency at 7pm: although River levels on the Nene have recently been falling, they are now expected to rise again, peaking from early morning Thursday 29th November onwards and we expect properties to continue to be affected.

So the lack of drama continues ...........

    Bit of an anticlimax:

Water levels seem to be slowly dropping although we are still officially under a Flood Warning. Looks like I've been deprived of my chance to make a dramatic exit and get my Fun windsceen sticker on the national news.
