Why do you say that. Huge cruise ships have been going to Praia da Rocha (Portimão) for yonks. I am guessing that the port can cope with a car ferry.
I am talking about P & O not having a suitable ship to do the job, unless they move one from the North Sea ferry route they don't have one. Never mentioned the port.

I was talking to a motorist whilst waiting to unload Cap Finistere.

He suggested that there are plans for P&O to start a new ROPAX service to
Portimão

?

I can't see it myself

True, but I guess a North Sea ferry would cope with the route well.

I have searched for a good.....5 minutes on Google and can find nothing to indicate that they (P&O) are planning a route direct to Portugal.

It is possible for P&O to charter a ferriy but I don't suppose there is a very big market for suitable vessels.

you might be surprised to hear that there are various ferries for sale or to lease around the world. many with a suitable configuration to suit the route. if the contracts can be signed, there is no reason the service cant start within months

WHATS THE POINT? I thought motorhomes are for driving, like Touring from site to site, seeing places on route, taking different routes. Fly to your holiday location and stay in a luxury apartment, much cheaper option.

I'm a freelance shipping writer and photographer. My information is that P&O Ferries is further expanding its “sea bridge” network following an agreement with Finnlines that offers ro-ro services from Zeebrugge to Bilbao and Santander.
