New to motorhomes
Hi,

We are a family of 4 (mum, dad and 2 boys, 5 and 3) and we have just bought our first motorhome. We are new to motorhomes but decided that we could have some great adventures with our two boys as they grow up so we took the plunge! Our Chausson Flash 22 arrived yesterday and the boys were so excited about it. Are there any other owners who could recommend some great family-friendly places to take children? We love the outdoors and the boys love scootering and cycling.

Pembrey, near Llanelli, if you want to go a bit further away. Great beach, great woodland, steam model railway, great for very safe bike riding, horse riding etc.

Enjoy it!

Hello and welcome, my grandchildren love going away in the motorhome, sure yours will too, no knowledge of places in your area.
Find that the children all make new friends when on site, try some of the rallies too. we look for sites near cycle paths as my boys are keen cyclists eldest 14 youngest grandchild 3.

Motorhome kids will love..
Lots of great outdoor venues you can go to in the summer like Steam rallies, balloon festival, music weekends, rallies with FUN and other clubs. Dont just stick to campsites... Kids soon make friends..
As for going abroad even better...
Took my 2 grandkids all over the place since they were born, now 9 and 11...
In fact just been told off because i didn't book anything for new year.
Cant help with your part of the country..

Hello and welcome from West Midlands.

I think they will be closed for the season at present but when they re-open it might be worth looking at Diggerland. They are scattered across the country but the one in Devon includes a campsite so you could stay over while in the area. To see the 5 year-olds driving real diggers is quite something and it certainly puts a smile on their faces.

.... p.s. To get the most from the forum you will need to subscribe. It's well worth £15 and will allow you to continue posting as well as letting you into areas that non members can't access.

Good luck on your adventures. Are you a member of one of the major clubs? Little point in mentioning their facilities otherwise.

Hi @Harmans and :welc:. I lived in Emsworth for a while and we have several members down that way inc. Bosham and Hayling Island. I moved a few years ago from Port Solent up here in the New Forest and I see loads of vans packed with kids and Grandchildren enjoying all the Forest ha to offer.

When my two boys were the age of your two, I had a Holdsworth Conversion on an old Bedford and my two preferred those holidays to all the flying away holidays. You've chosen well now get yer £15.00 out and join the best damn club in this small world (probably)

If you get to France, check this place out. We had a great time, my 2 boys loved it, overnight parking was €7 loads to see, would do 2 days next time
