Has anyone had any experience of the EZA power units from Roadpro Please?I know they are obscenely expensive but would like to know if they perform as promised.Would love to have a total solution to off grid power in the winter months but apart from generators(Boo! Hiss!!)can't find anything apart from the EZA that might do the job.WOuld have to sell the van to afford one though, which kind of defeats the object

Am I missing something, they are only expensive batteries. You still have to put the amps back in just as with lead acid.

I did consider one and went to visit the Roadpro stand at Lincoln when they first introduced them. Needless to say they did not have any on show and the staff there did not really help in selling the product. In the end I elected to go for the TelAir TG 600 MEF Ecco Energy 12v Generator which is perfect for keeping us topped up off grid.

The thing is the Amps go back in way faster according to the makers.25 miles to fully recharge from 4 to 100 per cent.

Good point. The benefit depending entirely on your lifestyle.

But don't forget those 25 miles totally depend on which model battery and your alternator.

Have you looked at Efoy ? On paper a fine solution, give or take the fuel.

Our's is underslung to the rear of our tag axle van and is no where near as noisy as you might think, certainly a lot quieter than our Honda EU 2.0i which we were previously using.

But that's something like 200amps charging from you alternator, is that realistic.

The 210 Efoy only has a

I discounted the Efoy due to its meagre charge rate.
We have plenty of battery and solar to see us through most situations, it's just nice to know that if the sun doesn't shine for a few days in a row we can stay put where we are if we want to and still use the microwave and coffee machine etc, yes it a low charge rate but so what as it doesn't make any noise or smell so isn't bothering anybody.

Yes it's the most expensive way you could possibly charge your batteries BUT.

Big plus. And sooner rather than later better/cheaper system will be on sale. Hydrogen is very appealing, I know one big bike maker did a hydrogen fuel cell electric bike as test for the future.

But don't mention Apollo 13.

Perfectly reasonable for your circumstances.

But it was not a viable option for us and our families requirements particularly when skiing!

The 25amp charge rate of the TelAir and the easy access to LPG where deciding factors in our case.

We are all different that's for sure, I suppose we are lucky we have so many options.
