Do these prices seem excessive? We think so.

We are not confident to do ourselves.

Supply and fit turbo vent. £450
Supply and fit 150w solar panel. £750
Supply and fit thermocouple to gas hob £70

Thanks

Get a breakdown of parts and labour, difficult to say, we used Johns Cross Motorhome service centre in the past, might pay to get a quote from them.

Thermo couple is about £7 if you shop around... So they are quoting almost £70 for about 40 minutes work

Solar panel with decent regulator and all the fittings £300 absolute max ( search around and almost halve that ) so charging a minimum of £400 for two or three hours labour ( again that is a max time )

No idea about the turbo vent but looking at the other quotes proly WAY WAY OTT as well

It might be worth trying Dave Newell. Sure to be a better price and Funster discount to boot.

I agree with @Jaws, the Turbo vent depends what model you are having fitted but if a Fiamma should only be a 2-3 hours labour so probably around £300 would be reasonable.

Come down to us, it will be worth the diesel cost! or contact Dave Newell, he is up northish

Peter
More midlands than north. Also while he carries out the work you can spend the day going round Blists Hill it's well worth a visit as well the other visitor attractions nearby.

Given that Eddie will fit a panel, controller and a battery master for under £500 [with funster discount], I'd say very pricey

Might be a distance - but you could combine it with a trip/holiday.
He'd probably do the turbo vent, not sure about the thermo couple.

I fitted my own 140 watt panel for £120 and a Schaude genuine plug in unit regulator for £60 so that is a fair saving. The thermocouple is about a tenner and easy to fit.
The fan unit is a bit of a bugger to get the wiring to unless they fitted the wiring standard in the factory.
