Even at that exchange rate fuel is cheaper in France than UK. I no nothing about Belgium fuel prices.

Just filled up today near Honfleur and paid €1.09.This isn't the cheapest we've had in our 10 week tour but it's totally acceptable. We got €1.43 to the pound on our Euro card a few months ago so it's very cheap fuel.
