Hello

Well, we have a problem- the fridge/freezer has started to "beep" occasionally...Mr has put some bottles of frozen water in the freezer compartment, a tip noted from elsewhere on these forums, for the ferry trip. He wonders if maybe this has somehow "upset" the freezer....and that's why it's beeping now? It's the first time we've used the freezer since getting the MH earlier this year. The actual "alarm" symbol on the right of the control panel hasn't come on, which is reassuring, but we don't fancy having a problem while on a 16 day holiday in France, starting early tomorrow.

Has anyone experienced similar? Or is it normal?
Any replies appreciated.
Thank you.

beeping usually means either the door is not closed fully or the energy source selected has failed if in manual energy selection mode.
Examples.......12 volts selected but engine not running.
.........230volt selected but mains supply tripped.
.........gas selected but gas run out or fridge gas valve turned off.

Ensure that the catch that holds the door in the storage vented position, has been retracted so that door closes fully.

Well, Many thanks to all of you night owls who have replied so far... it definitely seems to be related to Mr messing about with bottles earlier. We spent a bit of time in the MH and the beeping seems to have stopped. The fridge and freezer were definitely cold/ frozen, as appropriate. :) hmmm...hopefully, when we go to the van tomorrow, all will be well.....Thanks, @Jim for the link to the other thread, really useful. Our (home) kettle gave up the ghost yesterday, we're just a bit edgy about things going wrong..and they do say they come in threes....
The kettle was easily solved, our son lives with us, but is buying a flat ...we suggested a kettle would be the perfect first purchase for his new place. We now have a new kettle, but we may lose it when he moves out...small price to pay, we say! :D:D

Night all. Elsie the Hymer will be en France by lunchtime tomorrow....woohoo....let the MH adventure begin!

Just a quick update on the fridge...we thought the beeping had stopped....so we set off for the ferry at silly o'clock yesterday....soon realised it was still happening, every few minutes... Saddo that I am, I counted every time it happened. I can confirm it was 33 beeps every time! So, we had Mrs Satnav reminding us of the speed limit, and the attention-seeking fridge. Nice to escape them while on the ferry crossing, which was great. ( Mr managed the reversing onto the ferry like a pro. )
Having arrived in Mayenne, the problem seems to be something to do with the door sensor/ internal light. Once that is disconnected, all's well. Fridge/ freezer still works, but we no longer have the beeps. This works as a temporary fix, but once we're home, we will check it properly.
Thanks again for the replies in our hour of need.

I have had the same problem.
In my case condensation was collecting inside the door catch/light sensor thingy. Once that was removed and given a few hours to dry out the problem wet away.
It has happened too me twice now.

Aha..yes, condensation seems to be the problem...we're just happy to be beep- free for now, and we'll investigate further when we get home. @makems we will be watching out for this problem in future. Thanks.
