You'll be put in the large single deck carriages with other camper vans and coaches and people with roof racks who think they are too tall to go in the twin deck carriages with all those normal cars....

An advantage is also you can triple-up your Tesco vouchers, gained by shopping there or using Tesco interest-free credit card.

    NB,

As part of the above caution by Minx, one of the most important is that you cannot buy a journey that starts in France. In other words, you can't buy two single tickets thinking that you want the flexibility of returning when you want. You have to buy a Return ticket or just a single going out.

:):)We are doing this for the first time at the end of August and have included the travel insurance, after advice from other forum members. No need to declare medical conditions, just need to identify your own doctor does not advise against travel. Other half is delighted, as hates all the conversations with Insurance companies, appears to also be cheaper for us.

If you use the tunnel book a return ticket. This year we went one way to Santander with Brittany ferries and came back via the tunnel some weeks later. We hadn't booked a return before we set off and got stung with a stupid price. In future we'll plan a return date.
