I don't think Jim will want to make a habit of standing in the newsagent handing tickets over:Doh:

Apart from one offs I don't think you can run virtual syndicates.

This is true, we will have to get our thinking caps on to see if we can share the work load. The difficult thing is the payments.

As far as the tickets are concerned maybe the syndicate size would need to be limited to how many tickets can be bought online. I think Jim mentioned that it was 150 or something like that.

dont forget the 150 people in the syndicate paid £6.45 but if its capped and the amount is £2 each then its a smaller amount which can be done online maybe sort a direct debit to jim for the amount agreed

I suspect too few people (including me) fully understand the really GIGANTICALLY VAST, MASSIVELY HUMUNGOUS odds there are against winning the lottery.

I believe there is more chance of Mariella Frostrup AND Joanna Lumley arriving independently at my Hymer door and asking me to take them both out and show them a good time only to have me turn them down because I am in the middle of watching Man U*d Iive on my fully paid up, Sky subscription, satellite TV system than there is of me winning the lottery.

Still it is good to help out those lovely politicians who give up so much in order to serve our best interests by purchasing those tickets, hey?

One of my neighbours won the lottery 8 years ago and she still puts her lines on weekly.

You've got to be in it to win it!

In principle its a good idea and if we think about it there's ways it can be done.

Why not buy individual tickets then type numbers or scan ticket into lottery thread and very one who does this each week is in, that way no pressure on an individual to put lines on and no problems with people not paying, if you buy a ticket and put numbers on before draw then your in and get a share of winning.
The problem would then be what happens to the winnings well if its a small amount the person with winning ticket could then purchase more to that value.

Just a thought.

i'm ashamed of you young James, encouraging our younger members to start gambling while encouraging the older members to continue gambling.

I shall be forwarding a few leaflets to you regarding the good work of the '[STRIKE]drin[/STRIKE] Gamble Aware' initiative

There is ( apparently ) more chance of being hit my a meteorite than winning the lottery

6 winning numbers out of 49 = 14,000,000 to one ( near as dammit ) with 1 ticket

with 20 tickets ? 13,999,980 to one et al

Only sure way of winning.. Buy 14,000,000 tickets !

Opening a syndicate account is easy enough and auto-playing the same numbers is simple. You'd just have to make sure that the lottery account was topped up. The only problem is the large number that wants to be in the syndicate, those that don't make it will feel disgruntled.

I will run a poll to see the likely numbers of funsters who would want to play regularly and then take if from there.
